How We Started EVPV

June 2003
Graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

UC Davis was great. I survived their rigorous engineering curriculum, and I soaked up everything from chemistry to astronomy.

Inside the engineering program, I benefitted from courses like "Internal combustion engines and future alternatives," and  "Science and Society"

My only regret, is that I wasn't part of Team FATE. I could have worked with Andrew Frank.

Go Ags!

November 2005
Off to San Diego: To Build California's High Speed Rail

Things didn't go quite as planned with High Speed Rail.

Fortunately, Parsons Brinckerhoff had another project for me to work on, replacing a 30-year-old sewer main while PB earns awards from both the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Public Works Association.

January 2007
I joined Borrego Solar, where I got to work on a range of projects, from small residential 5kW systems, to the first 500kW project at UC San Diego.

July 2012
Ethan goes solo, becoming an independent solar consultant

He performs pre-construction visits, tackles utility challenges, and fine-tunes system designs, making sure solar installations are set up for success.

February 2018
EV charging is taking off, and Ethan joins ChargePoint.

He manages field projects and helps launch the first eBus charging stations in Silicon Valley.

He was basically laying the groundwork for future electric fleets.
